News Update

Hello all,

I wanted to let you know I suffered a series of health challenges over the past six months, mostly purely coincidental.  One of them was dietary.  I have had to go gluten-free and corn-free in addition to sulfur-free.  I have structural issues in my digestive tract that are making digesting those two foods into the most exquisitely painful experience.

So, from here on out, I will still be posting sulfur-free recipes I find or create (and I have a lovely load of them I need to get posted here), but they will also be gluten- and corn-free.

In most cases, gluten-free flour can be easily replaced with regular all-purpose flour or spelt flour to get the same desired results.

Tonight, I'm testing a sponge cake recipe that fits the whole bill.  If it's good, I shall be posting it here soon.

Thanks for your patience and continued support.

Very best,
Miriam

  3. I'm so glad to have found this blog -- notice no posts since April though. Are you still doing gluten-free, corn-free, sulfur-free? Or is trying to eat with those limitations just impossible? :) I'm in the same boat. I'd love to know any more recipes.

  4. Are you on thyroid medicine by any chance? If so, is it Synthroid or one of the other T4 only thyroid medications?

  6. Thank you for what you're doing Miriam to share what you've learned in spite of your health challenges. I've spent the past year bouncing between home and hospital beds with debilitating CFS/FMS. I'm already gluten free, and as of this week am starting low sulfur as well. From the difficulty I'm having finding low sulfur recipes that are also GF, I think we need to put together a cookbook. But in the meantime, really appreciate any GF, Low sulfur recipes you can throw my way. Best wishes for a healthier 2016 - Hugs ~ Cynthia
